Being aware of what we say and do can be difficult for most of us., I'm human..I'm guilty of it. The best thing that we can do to be more aware is to "be aware of wanting to be aware." In oder to make a change , we need to "want to make the change." That is the key first step in being aware. This, however, is the hardest of all actions to do. Our conscious minds do not like change. They like things to remain the same no matter how unhappy we are. Change takes work. Work is hard. We need to be aware of these thought processes and fight through the restraints that old us back.
